Sad news with the recent announcement of the deaths of Angus Foy and Dougie
Martin. Both were well known on the Dundee music scene and were friends and an
inspiration to many musicians.

Angus and Michael

Angus Foy was a founder member of Hens Teeth, Skeets Boliver, Mort Wriggle and The
Panthers, St Andrew and The Woollen Mill and often performed solo around Dundee. He is of course immortalised in the lyrics of Michael Marra's "Hamish The Goalie" -

"Gus Foy pointed to the sideof the goal and said "There's Grace Kelly by Taylor's Brothers coal""

An appreciation of Angus Foy's life written by Alan Wilson can be found in The Courier

You can hear Gus performing here

Dougie Martin

Dougie Martin rightly called "the Godfather of Dundee Soul" was a member of the
legendary Poor Souls and Mafia. The Courier has a great tribute to the man -  written by Alan Wilson.
