but our priveliged perspectives all our points and views
we're not helping anybody just by catching the news

but when all our neighbours kids lie hungry pleading at our feet

brothers can you hear them at all
sisters do you hear them at all

we watch like dumb spectators on a fairground ride
we see poverty's abundance growing fast in daylight
we learn to shut our eyes and sleep sound through the night

we watch movies
while mothers watch their kids starve
we are guilty one and all we are
if we go quietly when we should be getting louder
